Mother’s Day teachings in response to gun violence.

Sunday Talk by Sosan Theresa Flynn

Seeing all beings as our mothers (from Naragajuna). Cherishing each and every beings as if they were our only child (from the Metta Sutta). Seeing ourselves as not separate from all beings, as a mother is not separate from her child at the time of birth (from Dogen’s Mountains and Waters Sutra). How these teachings can help us respond to the culture of violence in which we live, and especially gun violence. How these teachings can help us to be nurtured in the midst of difficult circumstances.
