It’s Not Just My Life I’m Living

Dharma Talk by Kyoku Tracey Walen on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Kyoku explained that we spend too much time letting our “self” monopolize our thinking – “How narrow that feels.” Reflecting on non-self, a basic tenet of Buddhism, she said we could not live our lives without the gazillions of people making that possible. Life is to be enjoyed, she said, and it’s not easy to enjoy when you are mostly thinking about yourself. Further, it’s not just our own lives we are liviving. Everything we do reverberates in other lives, not just human.
