Let’s strengthen our practice with a review of some of its deep roots. In this survey class we will consider the teaching of one seminal teacher of our lineage from each of four major periods/cultures: India, China, Japan and the US. Through readings and discussion we will consider the primary teaching from the record of Nagarjuna, Chau Chou, Hakuin, and Dainin Katagiri, and we’ll supplement this review with consideration of some of our women ancestors as well.
