Hokyoji Sesshin, 2019 – closed
With Dokai Georgesen and Kyoku Tracey Walen
July 13 – 20, 2019 • registration is closed-full capacity
This sesshin will focus on the Buddha’s teachings in the Pali Canon based on a book of just sixteen sutras: Basic Teachings of the Buddha by Glenn Wallis. Mr. Wallis provides new translations and commentary that help us hear Buddha’s core teachings in a fresh way and apply them in our modern everyday life. The sesshin will be held at Hokyoji Zen Practice Community which offers a natural environment of stillness and silence uniquely suited to the deep practice of sesshin.
We are especially looking forward to staying in the new building which will have 7 single rooms and a double room along with the new kitchen! The original residence has 2 singles, a 2 bed, and a 3 bed. The workshop has 2 singles, and 4 common area beds. If you have any questions, please email or call 651-222-6968, ext 1.
