Yunmen Wenyan (c. 864–949) was a master of the Chinese Zen tradition and one of the most influential teachers in its history. His teachings are said to permeate heaven and earth, to immediately and totally address the state and conditions of his audience, and to cut off even the slightest trace of duality. In this sesshin, Sosan’s dharma talks will focus on some of the koans featuring the teachings of Yunmen so that we can open our hearts and minds in the midst of silence.
