July Zoom Retreat
with Sosan Theresa Flynn
July 10 – 17
(begins at 7:30 pm on Friday; ends at 12:30 pm Friday)
If registering after July 6, please also email sosan@cloudsinwater.org and myoshin@cloudsinwater.org.
In his great poem, “Song of Zazen” Japanese Zen Master Hakuin writes, “How boundless and free is the sky of Samadhi! How refreshingly bright the full moon of wisdom! At this moment, what is there that you lack?” Alas, many of us cannot immediately access this wisdom and feel that we are lacking. This makes it extremely difficult to maintain the energy we need to joyfully engage in bodhisattva work (the work of saving all beings). During this retreat, Sosan’s dharma talks will expound upon Hakuin’s wisdom, using the frame of Tara Brach’s wonderful teachings on “RAIN.” In meditation, we will be invited to Recognize our patterns, Allow them to be there, Investigate how that feels in our bodies, and Nurture ourselves so that we can fully bloom.
The retreat will begin Friday, July 10 at 7:30 pm and continue through Friday, July 17 at 12:30 pm. There will be many breaks so that you do not get “zoomed out.” Also, you have the option to participate as much or as little as you like. We ask that all participants attend the orientation session on Friday, July 10, 7:30 – 9 pm (if this is not possible, please indicate so when you register).
This retreat is a “pay what you can” offering. When you register, include a note about when you plan to attend.
