Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life – June 9-30

What is right speech? How do we deal with anger so we can live in integrity with our values? We will practice responding to ourselves and others with empathy. How to ask others for help in a clear way that doesn’t expect mind reading. We will practice saying “No” with loving kindness. We will practice transforming our anger into life serving needs.

Intro to Meditation and Zen Buddhism – June 26

This class offers an introduction to meditation and Zen Buddhism. We will cover how to meditate, how to set up a meditation space at home, basic Buddhist terms and teachings, and an overview of the Clouds in Water community. There will also be time for practice and conversation.

In-Person Hokyoji Sesshin – July 12-18

We are excited to be offering our first in-person sesshin since March of 2020, with Zoom participation available as well on a separate registration page. This sesshin is offered at beautiful Hokyoji Zen Practice Community, located among the forested hills of southeastern Minnesota, just a few miles from the Mississippi River.
